A while ago I made the picture below.
A picture with two sights within, a sight through the window and the reflection of what’s behind me.God told me that this is what often is in our life. We see a lot of what is behind of us, what happened in the past, and it dominates the view in front of us.
What I should have done is using a polarization filter, this filter reduces the reflections so you have a better view forwards.
This is what the Bible tells us. Philippians 3: 13 says: “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
In this way the Bible is a polarizing filter, it filters reflections from the past, the old man has died (Romans 6:6) and we focus on who is in front of us, the Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrew 3:1).
It is on us what to do: are we looking towards our lives with or without the polarizing filter of the Bible.
